It is not enough to know about him but to truly know our Maker. Knowing God intimately has been my prayer and understanding who He is and really internalizing my faith and walking it out. I don’t want to live this life and not know the character of the Creator of the Universe. I want to live and breath God’s will and all that He encompasses. I don’t want to take a day for granted knowing that God created me for a purpose and to live out that purpose each day and not waste it. I have wasted a lot of days away by the choices I have made and realizing I was living for myself. I know about my God but I wasn’t really letting Him take the driver seat and knowing HIM as my driver. There is a big difference between the two because knowing about him is head knowledge but knowing HIM personally is heart knowledge. God desires us to want to know His heart and take His wisdom and live it out. He wants us to own our faith and have a close relationship with us so we have knowledge from our heart and can live that out each day. It is knowing him that brings us purpose and a fire inside to share about him and his love for the world.
God is the pathway to life and keeps things running smoothly if we follow Him and get to know Him will bring so much joy. Psalm 16:11 puts it this way, “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. I want to be in God’s presence every waking moment and not forget who created me and who died for me. Knowing Him should be one of our greatest desires and aims. As we know Him, we know what is expected of us from our heavenly Father. If we know about him, we only know the surface stuff of Christ and not what makes His heart beat and yearn for each day. My desire to is to have compassion and love for what God has.
Let’s be a generation that knows Him personally and believes who God is regardless what the world tells us but instead be the light for the world. As we know him our actions will follow to where others will want to follow! Let it be our goal of knowing Him and let that be your greatest joy in life because our maker desires and longs to know us. Will you let God into your heart today and let Him know you inside and out? As we invite Him in we begin the journey of knowing him at a level like no other!
